Here are 7 hot tips for when you meet someone new.
When you meet someone new you should start by asking:
What’s are you into outside of work” (go off script, don’t ask the standard boring questions that don’t get people to open up)
What’s your biggest interest right now?
What trips do you have coming up
What's the best place you would recommend we go this year?
What brought you here today
What piqued your interest this evening?
What was the last book you read that you would recommend?
Anything that encourages them to share who they truly are, not what they do. What they love, what they are interested in and where they are truly inspired.
In The First Domino by Tim Castle, I discuss the MAGIC Framework, this framework can help you any time you meet someone new.
‘M’ stands for Make Connections everywhere you go.
‘A’ stands for add value by making valuable introductions
‘G’ is Give Willingly without expectation
‘I’ stands for Inspire others’ growth through your own example
‘C’ is for Collaborate, for this is the real magic.
The MAGIC framework is an easy way to demonstrate value, make connections and keeps your intention clear. Through it you become a valuable person to know and are amplifying your network and influence.
