A memo for what to do in these difficult times

Don’t let this time count for nothing.

Now is the time to go big, to put your ALL into delivering your gift to the world in service. This is NOT the time to play small, small thinking will leads to small action, and small results.

Make a commitment today, to discover your best self, to pursue your purpose and to create in inspired action that which will transform your life.

It would be easy to go through this period of unprecedented change and difficulty and come out the other side with nothing to show for it, expect perhaps for having watch a few more seasons on Netflix and gained a couple of extra pounds. Do not accept the quiet stealth of mediocrity that creeps into our lives when we aren’t looking and hijack’s our dreams from coming true.

Within you is a chasm of unfulfilled potential, true tragedy is to live an unfulfilled life, to go through it never having expanded your horizons, or reached your full potential and ultimately having denied the world of your greatness. This is a real sadness.

The greatest gift you can give to the world is expressing your fullest potential and helping others in contributing value.

If there has ever been a time to put down the Cheetos, ditch the booze, stop the mindless procrastination of your life that is sucking the very goodness on a daily basis and draining the vitality from your core, second by second, it is now.

Here are ten easy, simple and effective steps you can take to move close to ensuring you don’t waste this golden opportunity to grow and discover your true purpose.

  1. Go on YouTube, find a mentor, someone in the self-help genre. Watch their stuff, embrace their philosophies with an open mind, give it a try.

  2. Ask more from yourself than yesterday, do 20 push-ups, 20 sit ups, 20 pull-ups, physically channel your inner warrior, get stronger.

  3. Download and pay for an online course – it doesn’t need to be a long one, start with the mentors products that you found when watching YouTube, double down on your curiosity.

  4. Define a mantra, mine is “Believe it is possible”. Say to yourself any time you are thinking of giving up. This is exactly the time you need to continue.

  5. Avoid negative people – stop watching negative news, stop gossiping, judging and wasting energy on things that pull you down rather than elevate.

  6. Create a daily habit of personal growth – life is about growth; fulfilment comes from growth and service to others. What can you do to grow and serve? Give more to someone randomly.

  7. Wake up an hour earlier and use this time for self-development. Visualize yourself successful. What does success mean to you? Write down your daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly goals. Get used to being very familiar with your goals, know them inside out.

  8. Listen to podcasts in transit. When washing the dishes, having a bath or working out use this ‘dead time’ to promote your growth and learning.

  9. Take one action each day that scares you. Don’t put off what you can do today for tomorrow. Register your company, post that post, write that book, call that boss, take that job, invest that money, do that course, constantly put yourself on the pathway to success.
